Fine motor skills and the ability to focus are critical to getting back to everyday life. For some patients, they have to re-learn the basics, like how to use a toothbrush, and playing with items like legos can aid in building dexterity as well as bring normalcy to their day. $2,500 will provide 30 lego sets.
Birthday party
Hospital stays are not often convenient. Many of our patients spend their birthday and holidays with us. $1,000 will allow our Child Life Specialists to make sure those special moments are still celebrated! $1,000 will provide for 10 birthday parties
Science Experiments/Crafts
Exploring and making new things is part of what makes a kid, a kid! $500 can provide for 10 science experiments or 50 craft kits so our patients can continue learning even while away from school.
Board Games
Play is familiar and reassuring. It's how kids make sense of the world. A rousing game of Connect 4 or Hungry, Hungry Hippo allows for the needed connection to parents, siblings or caretakers. $250 will provide 15 board games.
Caregiver kit
Being a caregiver is a big responsibility, even on a normal day. When your child is sick and there are so many things to keep track of, including your own sanity, a little help can go a long way. $100 can provide 2 caregiver kits including a daily devotional and a nice notebook to keep track of all the things.
