Very Haw Flakes, by Alyssa Low:

When Michelle Li (journalist and co-founder of Very Asian Foundation) received racist remarks about her New Years Day food traditions, it not only triggered me and my childhood experiences with Chinese food, but I felt compelled to paint a piece in reaction to her story and mine. This 18x24 acrylic on canvas features one of my favorite snacks (Haw Flakes), but replaced the letters with "Very Asian". It's a response that yea my food is very Asian, and I'm damn proud of it.
