Two of Japan's biggest obsessions: cats and sushi! For centuries, Japanese artists have drawn cats in every way imaginable, and this my contribution to that tradition.

The main title cartouche reads: sushi nyanko. 'Nyan' is Japanese for 'meow', and a 'nyanko' means 'kitty'.

The white cartouche reads: On Full moons, get a full tummy with half-price toro!" (Toro is the belly cut of tuna. It's expensive and delicious.)

The green cartouche reads: The temaki sushi at Four-Leg Naoki's is irresistible to cats.

Archival pigments on acid-free handmade Japanese paper.
Print is signed and sealed by the artist.
Print area measures 12x17 inches. Will include frame.

Jed Henry is an illustrator, lifelong gamer, Japanophile, and all-around nerd. He grew up copying art from game manuals, and years later, eventually got a degree in animation. He now works full time on Japanese prints, and on his upcoming video game 'Edo Superstar'. Jed lived in Tokyo for 2 years, and proudly speaks Japanese at about a 4-year-old level. Jed divides his time between drawing, his family, and scheming how to move back to Japan.
