Not two, and not one.

Sculpture by Darla Jackson

Hydrocal, graphite, enamel

6"h x 3.5"w x 1.5"d

"The position expresses the oneness of duality: not two, and not one. This is the most important teaching: not two, and not one. Our body and mind are both two and one. Our life is not only plural, but also singular. Each one of us is both dependent and independent." - Shunryu Suzuki, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind

A sister piece to "Until they grow loud..." and inspired by conversations with Paul Romano (@workhardened) , this piece focuses on the positive...love, support, trust, balance. Finding these things in ourselves and others, especially during hard times such as these, becomes so important. I'm so many ways we are not two, and not one.
