Calling all art collectors! Own a unique piece of Shreveport history, donated by Dr. Jennifer Conduff of Red River Animal Hospital.

This unique piece entitled "Dancer" was painted in 1973 by prison artist Jay Gould.

Jay Gould painted while serving time for attempted robbery of the Bank of Louisiana in New Orleans.

Jay Gould, wearing a yellow rain slicker, entered the Bank of Louisiana in New Orleans on March 17, 1970. He proceeded to the window of a teller, and presented a note:

DON'T TALK! ACT NATURAL! PUT ALL THE BUNDLED MONEY IN THE SACK FIRST. NOW PUT THE REST OF THE MONEY IN. BE CALM, RELAXED AND YOU "WON'T GET SHOT!" DONT LET ANYONE FOLLOW ME.

When stopped and searched, he was found to have a toy gun in his pocket, but he never displayed the gun in the bank.

Dimensions 24" W x 30" L.
