Fund the Need - Transform the Greenhouse

Over the last 37 years, auction attendees have raised their paddles during the live auction to support specific projects that impact essential funding needs. In that time, more than $275,000 has been raised for projects like Smartboards, one-to-one technology, PEAK equipment, and student-centered campus spaces.

Located in the heart of Heathwood's campus, the Robert Clark Educational Greenhouse sits on the southern façade of the Susan Gibbes Robinson Math & Science Center. With your help, this unique but often over-looked space will be transformed into a new classroom with direct access to the greenhouse. Under the direction of Dr. Jamie Browder, EC/LS Science Resource Teacher and Greenhouse Manager, this dynamic new space will help us maximize our science curriculum and strengthen Heathwood's commitment to authentic educational experiences through hands-on, outdoor-focused activities.

With the goal of raising $20,000 toward the larger renovation costs, your gifts make each of the following improvements possible:

  • Renovation of the existing workroom space within the greenhouse
  • Creation of a new science classroom for Early Childhood and Lower School students
  • Replacement of the greenhouse windows to maximize their efficiency and appearance as an important architectural feature of the Robinson Math & Science Center
  • Revitalization of the Biology Buddies program between Upper and Lower School students
  • Relocation of Dr. Browder's classroom to a more central location to better manage both the Greenhouse and the Edible Forest, allowing for these garden spaces to be further incorporated into the curriculum across all divisions.
