The Army has five active duty Special Forces groups. Each group is responsible for a certain part of the world.
· First Special Forces Group (SFG) at Ft. Lewis, Wash.,
· Third SFG at Ft. Bragg, N.C.,
· Fifth SFG at Ft. Campbell, Ky.,
· Seventh SFG at Ft. Bragg, N.C.,
· Tenth SFG at Ft. Carson, Colo.,
Part of the Special Forces Foundation mission is to implement programs that contribute to the maintenance of the mind and body, provide acute and ongoing support in resolving psychological, emotional and relationship issues before they become chronic. One way of doing that is making sure that Green Beret's and their families have quality time together. The Special Forces Foundation sponsors at least two events per year at each of the 5 Special Forces Groups nationwide. Events include father/daughter Dances, family retreats, on base BBQ's and various other resiliency events. Each event has a $5,000 budget and is implemented based on the needs of the specific group.
Donors may earmark their donation to a specific Group if they wish.
