Formerly an illustrator, Martha Pettigrew has established herself as one of the foremost contemporary sculptors. She graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and has received
many prestigious awards. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious exhibitions such as the Annual Exhibition of the American Academy of Equine Artists, Lexington, Kentucky; the Great American West Show in Tucson, AZ; the Loveland High Plains Art Council's Sculpture in the Park, and the Phippen Museum in Prescott, AZ.
Pettigrew has four bronzes on display in the Fountain Hills public art collection: "Second Mesa Maiden" in Fountain Park; "The Enduring Spirit" in the Community Center; "Dewey" (the rabbit) and "Where Have All the Mammoths Gone?" in the Centennial Circle.
