California - Zinfandels from the Ravenswood and Once and Future Wineries

France - Domaine de Ferrand Chateauneuf du Pape - Magnum (2015)

Italy- La Serena Brunello di Montalcino - Magnum (2013)

California: Legendary winemaker Joel Peterson, known as the King of Zinfandel began making zinfandel at his Ravenswood winery in the mid-'70's. More than 30 years later, he founded a new winery, Once and Future, where he has returned to his roots making small batch, hand-crafted wines. These two single vineyard wines, from the 2000 and 2019 vintages, were both made by Joel from the Teldeschi vineyard, providing an interesting opportunity to compare how the wines (and winemaker's) styles have changed over that period. The Ravenswood was sourced directly from the winemaker and his wines from this period are no longer available.

France: This magnum, from the superb 2015 vintage, received ratings of 93 - 96 points from top reviewers in the industry. Located in the Southern Rhone, the wine is made from the classic Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre varietals of the region. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few more years and should be opened at least an hour before drinking.

Italy: This estate is located on the eastern edge of the Montalcino winemaking region in Tuscany. Made from Sangiovese grapes, the 2013 vintage was rated outstanding and this wine is no exception. It will be drinking at its peak through 2025.
