Artist Bio:

Powder is a 16-year-old White cockatoo or Umbrella cockatoo. These birds are known for their broad crest of feathers that open up like an umbrella and fans out when the bird is excited or scared. Powder loves spending time with her keepers and is very talkative.

Powder got her name from the powder-like dust throughout her feathers, which provides important waterproofing to cope with a tropical, wet climate. Even though White cockatoos are often seen in pet stores, throughout the US, they are an endangered species within their native ranges of Indonesia.
