Artist Bio:

Sachin Pannuri was born and raised in Hyderabad India. He received his Bachelors of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University, India and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University. Sachin is currently a Sr Director at Sesen Bio. He is a teaching assistant at the Art Student League of New York and a student there for the past 20 years. He lives in Scotch Plains with his wife Jayanthi Reddy and daughter Neha. Fun fact - his daughter was a girl scout in Scotch Plains.

Artist statement:

There is no goal, no plan, no desired image, no destination for the painting. It just happens like most things in life. Every touch of the canvas changes the direction of the painting. Every painting has a life of its own.

My choice of material is of less importance than the feeling of color, texture and form. Some of the materials that I use are sand, henna, coffee, ink, watercolor, oil bar, charcoal dust, marble dust, cold wax, and acrylic gel medium. The basic colors and textures are manipulated to convey my feelings. The exciting part of the creation is not knowing the outcome. The process becomes the most important aspect of creation, spontaneity & play being the main ingredients.
