Thirsty Owl Wine Company was opened by the Cupp family in 2002 and is located on the West side of Cayuga Lake on a half mile of lake frontage (450 ft. deep) in the Finger Lakes of upstate New York. Thirsty Owl is a fully operational winery with approximately 41 acres of vineyard, using 100% Finger Lakes fruit, 85% of which is estate grown and is sustainably farmed and solar powered. We strive to make wines that are fruit forward, food friendly and appealing to a broad customer base while enhancing the best qualities of each distinct vintage. Thirsty Owl produces a wide variety of wines, including estate grown and award winning Rieslings, Pinot Gris and hybrids along with additional white varietals, including "unique for the area," distinctive dry reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec and Pinot Noir.
