A tide pool tour in Half Moon Bay led by a professional marine ecologist (Ph.D. earned at UC Davis). Up to 4 children as guests, plus accompanying adults. Ecologist will identify the best time to visit the tide pool area and share one of the best spots in Half Moon Bay to see animals. He will lead a 2 or 3 hour tour in which he identifies marine life and seaweeds and discusses their life cycle, biology, and the ecology of the tide pool system. Each child will also receive a small tide pool guide book for the California Coast and commemorative photo(s). Snacks also to be provided. On this tour in the past, children have seen: sea stars, nudibranchs, anemones, kelp crabs, sea urchins, barnacles, mussels, hermit crabs, baby eels, gumboot chitons, small fish, and seals.
