ARTIST STATEMENT

Have a portrait of yourself or a loved one painted by York County PA artist Peter Danko. Peter's style is fast and loose, capturing the subjects vitality, energy, and if the subject is a musician he even captures the music.

The painting will include the subject's face and be about 9 x 11 inches. Peter will work with you to provide an appropriate photo or he may arrange to take one. The work should be complete in about 6 to 8 weeks.

ARTIST BIO

Peter began drawing and painting in childhood. He graduated from the University of Maryland where he received a BA with a major in Art and Art history. Since college Peter has been mostly self employed designing and making bent-ply furniture and cabinetry. In 2004 he began drawing and painting again; his work is mostly figurative. Presently he draws musicians for the York Symphony Orchestra and runs figure drawing sessions at Parliament Arts in York PA. His furniture is in numerous museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
