ARTIST BIO

Christopher Carpenter was born to a military family in Fort Stewart, Georgia
in 1980. Early during his childhood, Christopher's family moved to Baltimore, MD
were he was diagnosed with cancer. Spending much of his time in hospitals and
doctors' offices Christopher developed a fascination with fantastical images and
art making. Naturally, he was drawn to the story telling and world building seen in
comics, television, and movies of the era. That interest was cultivated during his
teenage years which led him to attend The Maryland Institute College of Art where
he earned a Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration.
Using story telling and world building through sequential, illustrative, digital,
and traditional medias Christopher delved further into his artistic practice.
Christopher's images evoked a narrative that can cause a sense of wonder, yet
also can be inviting and symbolic. His works have been showcased in Maryland,
New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C.
While working as an artist and a freelance illustrator for over 15 years some of
his clients include Rockstar Games, Dragon Magazine, Diamond Comics Previews,
and BCPL. Christopher has also taught collegiate aspiring art students specializing
in traditional and digital media. He teaches all ages in order to help them foster the
same enthusiasm that he has for art. Christopher currently lives and works in
Baltimore, MD and York, Pennsylvania.
