FEATURED ARTIST

Linda Sommer is a contemporary abstract painter who resides in York, Pennsylvania and Port Orange, Florida. Her abstract explorations and studies continue with the nationally known American teachers Steven Aimone (including 3 awarded residencies), Audrey Phillips, Nicholas Wilton and recently, with British artist, Emily Ball. Linda's award winning works have been exhibited regionally in group and solo invitational and juried exhibits in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. Exhibition highlights include: Doshi Gallery at the Susquehanna Arts Museum, multiple YorkFest Exhibits, the Women Artist of York1 at Creative York (YorkArts), Rottler Awards Winners Exhibit at York Art Association, Solo Exhibit at Marketview Arts for the Susquehanna Artists, solo exhibit at the Cab Gallery and the Visual Arts Invitational Exhibit of the PA Governor's Awards for the Arts in York, PA.

Primarily using acrylic and oil media, she works intuitively, building layers expressing image and emotion. Through the use of mark and color, her paintings show the immaterial, invisible world that we can sense but not see. Her artwork can be found in numerous private and corporate collections. In addition, she has produced corporate commissions. Linda's work was highlighted in the book "Expressive Drawing: A Practical Guide to Freeing the Artist Within" by Steve Aimone.

Sales, consultations and commissions can be arranged by appointment. Linda welcomes visits to her Wrightsville studio/gallery.
