Athena is a Eurasian Eagle Owl residing at the Koret Animal Resource Center.

These owls are among the largest of owl species and can be distinguished from other owls by their large size, conspicuous ear tufts and vivid orange eyes. With a wingspan of 5-6ft. these owls are excellent hunters and generally do not have any predators once they are full-grown adults.

Found throughout most of Europe and Asia, Eurasian eagle owls can be found in rocky outcrops and cliffs in wooded habitats.

Farmers welcome these owls near their crops as they help to keep rodent populations down. Athena participates in flight training sessions with her keepers at the ARC and enjoys a variety of tasty meats like mice, chick and even rabbit!

This print of Athena's feather is 8"x10" framed to 12"x15"
