This set of historically interesting bird books includes:

1) The Warblers of North America, Frank M. Chapman, 1907 -- Chapman was one of the best-known bird men of his day, and this book may be of interest to collectors, especially those with interests in warblers. Chapman was associated with the American Museum of Natural History in New York for many years in the early 1900's where he rose to the position of Curator of Birds. He also originated the idea of the Christmas Bird Counts.

2) Birds Over America, Roger Tory Peterson, 1964 -- Peterson probably needs no introduction to any birder.
This book is a series of autobiographical accounts of places he visited and explored in pursuit of birds and is generously illustrated with photographs that were taken by him. Although most hardcore birders today have easy access to information about American birding hotspots, this book gives information about some of Peterson's favorite places and the birds that inhabit them.

3) Audubon's Wildlife: A New Look at the Birds and Animals, Edwin Way Teale with selections from the writings of John James Audubon, 1964. This book is generously illustrated with copies of Audubon paintings of birds and mammals. It also contains selections from Audubon's writings and shows that for his day he was quite descriptive and often very eloquent in talking about his subjects.
