Original 1983 Poster Commemorating the Arrival of the Sloop Sojourner Truth from her Maiden Voyage.

The 42-foot red-sailed sloop, Sojourner Truth, was a sister ship of the Sloop Clearwater, created with the help of Pete Seeger to raise awareness of the Hudson River's innate beauty at a time when the waterway was at its most polluted a quarter century ago.

On September 11, 2002, high winds and surging waves tore the "Sojourner Truth" from its Hudson River mooring, sending it onto the rocks at Half Moon Bay. The craft was so badly damaged that it was beyond our means to salvage.

This poster has been professionally framed by our very own Ben Kaminsky (Revival Planning Committee Co-Chair, Revival Site Crew Coordinator, Virtual Revival Co-Chair Extraordinaire) from his woodshop at Wesley Allen.

Wesley Allen creates closed-corner museum quality frames. This frame was hand crafted from Ash Burl Veneer on quarter-sawn red oak. The glass used in this piece is also museum quality that will prevent the poster from fading.
