Global Academies Anniversary Gala

Fifteen years ago, Global Leadership Academy (GLA) Charter School opened its doors to provide a high-quality educational option to children throughout the City of Philadelphia. The Kindergarten through Eighth Grade School was created to "prepare the future leaders of the world" through an international and expeditionary curriculum.

Now in 2022, the school is located on two campuses in West and Southwest Philadelphia and serves over 1,300 children.  GLA students are referred to as Scholars to convey the high expectations for the aptitude of study.  The international and expeditionary-based components of the School's highly successful academic curriculum have earned Global Leadership Academy a reputation for transforming the lives of its Scholars.  As such, it has become one of the most sought-after Public Charter Schools in the School District of Philadelphia.

Our School offers each Scholar a pathway to success and opportunities to experience the world beyond their neighborhood through educational travel to local, state, national, and international historic and cultural sites through our Global Expeditions Program.  Our goal at GLA is to have Scholars think globally but act locally - through volunteerism and service to the community. 

This fall, we celebrate three special anniversaries - GLA West's 15th Anniversary, the 10th Anniversary of our renowned Golf Outing, and the 5th Anniversary of GLA Southwest.
