Coffee and Conversation with Michael C. Dalsing, M.D. - "What's on your mind?"

Gain some exceptional insights from Dr. Michael C. Dalsing, Professor Emeritus at Indiana University School of Medicine and full time faculty with IU Health Physicians. Winning bidder may choose to have lunch or coffee with Dr. Dalsing.

Dr. Dalsing is currently President-elect of the Society for Vascular Surgery. He has served on many of the SVS committees over the years and has a keen interest in its research, advocacy, educational and quality missions. Dr. Dalsing has just completed an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

More about Dr. Dalsing: He was born and raised in a small rural southwestern Wisconsin village where many of his large family still resigns. He attended St. Mary's College (Winona, Minnesota-B.A in Biology 1974) with matriculation to The Medical College of Wisconsin with M.D. degree obtained in 1978. General Surgery training was at Indiana University (1983) with Vascular Surgery fellowship completed at Northwestern University (1984). He is board certified in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

Dr. Dalsing joined the Indiana University faculty as an Assistant Professor in 1984 and became the first Director of Vascular Surgery in 1987 with its inception. He obtained AOA recognition in 1988. He rose through the ranks to become full professor in 1994 and the first E. Dale and Susan E. Habegger Professor of Surgery in 2004. Dr. Dalsing initiated the IU Independent Vascular Surgery Training Program (2000) and Integrated Vascular Surgery Training Program (2008).

Dr. Dalsing has a long and distinguished career in academic surgery. He has been president of the Indiana Chapter, American College of Surgeons and Chair of the ACS Board of Governors' Committee on Socioeconomic Issues. He has been president of the American Venous Forum, the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society, and the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery. He is a member of numerous prestigious surgical societies most notably the Society for Vascular Surgery, American Venous Forum, Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society, ACS and APDVS. He has been chair of several societal committees. He has given over 200 medical presentations throughout the world including Japan, Australia, South America and Europe. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and written over 40 book chapters.
