Maximizing early career leadership opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally. Conversation with Jason T. Lee, MD.

Dr. Lee is the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery for Stanford Medicine. He is a fellowship-trained, board-certified vascular surgeon and a passionate leader, researcher, and educator in our field. Dr. Lee graduated with honors from the California Institute of Technology in 1994, received his MD degree from the University of California, San Diego, in 1998, and completed his General Surgery Residency at Harbor-UCLA in 2004, at the time coming under the influence of Dr. Rodney White, one of the pioneers of aortic endografting.

He moved onto Stanford University for vascular fellowship completed in 2006, working alongside Drs. Christopher Zarins, Michael Dake, and Ron Dalman, further influencing his long-term interest in complex endovascular aortic therapies. After his training, Dr. Lee has stayed on the faculty at Stanford his entire career, in key roles as Program Director of the fellowship and residency from 2011-2020 and this this past summer in 2021, Dr. Lee succeeded Dr. Dalman in becoming the third Division Chief of the Stanford program. He most recently served as President of the VESS in 2021-22, and is the current President of the APDVS.
