Living Climbing History: Climb with Latok I Team

In 1978, four of America's finest alpinists (Jim Donini, Michael Kennedy, George Lowe and Jeff Lowe) approached the untouched North Ridge of Latok 1. Their 26 day epic through storm and sickness ended tantalizingly close to the summit. Over the next four decades more than thirty teams of world class climbers failed to get closer than 2,000 vertical feet below their high point. The climb has become the holy Holy Grail of alpinism, and the North Ridge, in its entirety, remains unclimbed.

The winner of this package will get to experience living climbing history! Head out for a day of adventure with legends Jim Donini, Michael Kennedy, and George Lowe. You'll climb in the iconic Colorado Front Range, choosing from its plethora of world class crags. As an added bonus, AAC publications manager, Dougald MacDonald, will join to share fun climbing history tidbits and regal with you with tales from the AAJ.

After a day of climbing, retire to a local eatery for stories of adventures past while enjoying a delicious dinner and drinks.
