Three bottles from Bordeaux: a Chateau Leoville Poyferre 2012: St. Julien 2nd Grand Cru Classe a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, the 2012 sports a deep ruby/purple color; it is rich, full-bodied, supple and forward, with low acidity and ripe tannin.

The Chateau Cherubin 2010: St. Emilon Grand Cru is predominantly Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc. 2010 was one of the best Bordeaux vintages in history; this is ready to drink now or hold. Black fruit, plum, cassis along with some earthy and leather, as well as St. Emilon's telltale minerality that comes from the limestone base. Balanced and beautiful.

The Chateau Laforge 2015: St. Emiilon Grand Cru is 92% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc. Firm tannins are well integrated with the blackcurrent fruits in this dense, ripe, and very fruity wine; the Merlot sings in this wine.

And then two bottles from Italy:

2015 Diego Morra Barolo Monvigliero DOCG. This lovely Barolo is a sensorial trip, perfumes of rose, delicate spices, and then flavors of mature fruit-a sensation only a great wine can capture. Rosé delle Casassse Barbaresco DOCG Riserva,

2011. From possibly the best Barbaresco vintage of our lifetime, this is definitely a "cult wine." Nebbiollo Rosé
is a grape that has all but died out. This wine has only been made three times.
