Akin to its namesake gemstone, Topaz Impérial shows a pale pink color with hints of orange reminiscent of the setting North Fork sun. Ripe strawberry, red cherry, and notes of rose petal on the nose and palate mingle elegantly with savory touches of biscotti. It's dry in style, yet fruity and juicy with brisk acidity and a lingering finish. Delicate and persistent, its fine bubbles compose a harmonious ballet.

Sparkling Pointe's state of the art winemaking facility was completed in the Summer of 2010. Dedicated to the exclusive production of Méthode Champenoise Sparkling Wines, the winery features a bladder press for gentle whole cluster pressing of the grapes, a tank room of 30,000 gallons for temperature controlled fermentations, 3,000 bottle-per-hour bottling line, 2,000 bottle gyro pallet riddling machine, fully automated disgorging line, and a well-equipped laboratory delivering daily wine analysis.

With 30 years of national and international experience, an accomplished scientific background and a distinctive artistic talent, award winning winemaker Gilles Martin blends in his wine creations the classic refinements of old world tradition with the adventurous passion of new world innovation.

Born at the gates of the Champagne region, Gilles headed to the South of France in the Languedoc wine region to obtain an engineering degree in biology and food sciences as well as a prestigious Masters of Oenology from the University of Montpellier. His 1986 Master thesis on the technology of wine ultra-filtration won national acclaim and a first prize, awarded in person, by former France president Jacques Chirac.
