Flying Squirrels Charities mission is to provide youth in our community access to athletic and educational opportunities through the game of baseball/softball. We aim to create a positive impact while bringing the FUNN to all we do! 


RPS Field Renovations: Flying Squirrels Charities, in partnership with Gilbane, are proud to support youth athletics with baseball and softball field renovations at Richmond Public High Schools. The project will include upgrades to the dugouts, bullpens and backstops as well as field upkeep and maintenance for the baseball & softball programs at Huguenot, John Marshall, Thomas Jefferson and Armstrong High Schools. 

 

All-Star Legacy Scholarship: One (1) $5,000 scholarship to a student-athlete committed to improving their community. 
 

Richmond 34 Scholarship: One (1) $2,000 scholarship, renewable for all four years attending school, to a student attending Virginia State University and one (1) $2,000 renewable scholarship to a student attending Virginia Union University.

All-Star Legacy Scholarship: Shyne Farrior. Graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School attending Hampton University to study Business.

Richmond34 Scholarship: Janiya Brown. Graduate of King & Queen Central High School attending Virginia Union University to study Health Science.

Richmond34 Scholarship: Doyle Wortham IV. Graduate of Meadowbrook High School attending Virginia State University to study Business. 

     

         


2026 scholarship applications will be available in February at grasp4va.org

  • Have Funn Go Putt Golf Tournament: Monday, May 4th at Hunting Hawk

  • Dinner on the Infield: Friday, October 2nd at CarMax Park

  • Squirreloween: Thursday, October 29th at CarMax Park

 

 

Become a 2026 Charities Champion

As a Champion, you will have involvement in all of our signature fundraising events, recognition on the website, opportunity to volunteer in our programs and best of all, will be helping in our mission to support kids in our community! Your support will directly benefit Richmond area students and student-athletes who are continuing their education through our All-Star Legacy and Richmond34 Scholarships; as well as our baseball & softball field upgrade projects with Richmond Public Schools.
