Estate Sapphire and Diamond Ring

Stamped platinum lady's cast 3-stone ring with a bright polish finish. This ring is newly restored, including new prongs on all 3 gemstones, as well as re-cutting the sapphire.

One prong set oval standard brilliant cut blue sapphire, measuring 10.05 x 8.53 x 5.06mm, exact weight 3.56ct., clarity is eye clean, medium, vivid, blue color, (GIA B 5/6), cut is very good. This sapphire was recently re-faceted to remove chips and abrasions, as well as to improve the cut grade.

Two prong sent round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 6.99 - 6.95 x 4.18mm approximate total weight of 2 stones = 2.48ct.

My mom, Pepper Frey, passed at age 89 on 9/25/2016. She LOVED fine jewelry and had a beautiful collection, including antique heirlooms that were all STOLEN from a safe that was inadvertently left open in their new home in Florida while the home was being built in the 1990's. She was absolutely devastated but soothed her sorrow by creating a new collection of gems (boy, she loved to work with jewelers!). I never shared that passion with her, but we DID share a passion for dogs! She caught the beginning of my shelter dog grooming obsession and was thrilled. She knew I loved the beauty of her jewelry, but was more inclined toward a bohemian/rock n' roll aesthetic. I couldn't think of a better way to honor her memory than to auction her jewelry to Muttville. She would be tickled pink.
