In making a donation to a special cause or passion project you are making a cash donation to support this signature program. No goods/services will be provided to the donor. The underwriting will help CSS retain and implement such distinctive programming.

The National Historic Preservation is currently reviewing two grant proposals for the School to restore the parquet de Versailles floors of
Claremont (Trianon). Our focus will be on the high-trafficked areas of the Versailles Room, Claremont Room, Terrace Room, and Library. The original 1907 Baldwin home features floor designs in a distinctive interlaced diagonal wood pattern, fashioned after the petite Trianon at Versailles. We know these floors can be restored to a beauty and elegance with proper preservation. However, the floors require expertise and restoration work which will include removing layers of liquid floor wax, sanding the floors to bare wood, replacing
missing and broken parquet wood panels, staining and finishing with a commercial-gradeproduct. We aim to embark upon this restoration process to preserve the 114-year old original floors and achieve a level of durability that will last another century.

Serving as the primary administrative hub of CSS and home to our Middle School, the building is a bustling center of energy at the heart of our campus. Students, teachers, and guests are in and out of the building all day long as we deliver a mission of preparing students for a dynamic world. Unfortunately, our dry climate and daily usage have contributed to the deterioration of the floors. In several cases, individual pieces of the parquet design are chipped or broken. In addition, areas in front of doorways have experienced secondary damage from water leaked from windows and doors. However, we are also working to sequence preservation work to address the windows and door panels

If awarded grants for this work, it would require a 1:1 match, meaning the CSS community must raise dollar for dollar the amount of a grant award.

*All donations made to this year's gala support the overall operating budget and will be eligible for the Colorado Childcare Tax Credit. Auction items purchased are subject IRS regulations regarding the value of goods/services received.
