Learn to Row the Potomac with the Grown Ups: Which Program is for You?
The Alexandria Community Rowing Adult Novice Sculling and Sweep programs are for adults who have no rowing experience and want to experience the excitement and fun of the sport. The goal of these programs is to teach rowing safety, rowing etiquette, basic sculling or sweep skills, and technique in multi-rower boats. Upon completion of the course, rowers are eligible to join ACR's Sculling or Sweep coached programs.
Choose One (1) Program Below:
Sculling Sessions:
- Session 1: June 4 to June 19 (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Session 2: June 21 to July 9 (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday) NOTE: The program does not meet on July 5.
Sculling Schedule:
- Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00-9:30 a.m.
Sculling Sessions:
- Session 1: May 30 to June 9 (Monday to Thursday)
- Session 2: June 20 to June 30 (Monday to Thursday)
Sweep Schedule
- Monday to Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. There will be two, 2-week sessions.
