Artist Bio

Chris Gold is a resident of York, PA who starts painting later in life.

As a child she grows up being fascinated watching her father paint with colorful, creamy oil paints, so in 2013 she picks up a brush to try it for herself. After finding some confidence in her painting skill set, she adds oils to her repertoire which dry more slowly and bring more richness and pliability to her pieces. She also finds painting a better vehicle to express her appreciation of the God given feminine strength and beauty she finds in nature.

Some of her paintings include elements of surrealism that give her work an added message. Now a retired nurse practitioner in women's health, she has more time to devote to the canvas and is showing her work in area galleries and online social media. She has been accepted into juried shows through the York Art Association and is showing work at the York Jewish Community Center, Ironic coffee bar and Parliament Art Organization. She is a member of the York Art Association, Creative York and a juried member of the Oil Painters of America. She also serves as the chair of the Gallery committee and Board of Directors of the York Art Association.
