Art from Early

Stephen Early - Fine Artist & Illustrator

My inspiration for the Live Painting of "The Soldier's Cross" at the Angel Gala:

"Upon being asked to paint a picture live at the Gala, I immediately thought of imagery that would honor a fallen hero.

While my father didn't fall in battle, he did pass away shortly after my honorable discharge from the military, and he was my hero. My question to myself in that moment was, "If I was an Angel of America's Fallen what would mean most to me?"

I believe this painting of a battle cross depicting patriotic wings and set in the heart of Colorado Springs honors our community's fallen heroes and honors the commitment Angels of America's Fallen has for the children and families of those fallen."

Stephen Early has been an artist since his childhood. His art has received awards and his work has been recognized by the Bemis School of Art and published in Scholastic Art Magazine.

Right out of high school, he served in the US Navy as a Photojournalist. This is where he developed his strong connection to people and portraiture and honed his skills in light and composition as well as digital imagery. He used these skills to start his company, Art From Early, aimed at commission art and focused on family portraiture.

To this day most of his work consists of highly realistic portrait paintings that combine family photos with images of fallen family members. This type of work has brought immense meaning and honor to the fine artist that Stephen has strived to become since his childhood.
