Biordi Art Imports, a North Beach institution since 1946, specializes in beautiful hand-painted Italian majolica and ceramic dinnerware and pottery.
Museumlike home-furnishings boutique specializing in upscale ceramic & glass items made in Italy.
The Cioppino deep bowls are 7 1/2" diameter, and 3.25" deep.
The Mugs are 4 1/2" high and 3 1/2" diameter.
All are in Biordi's signature Blue Carnation hand-painted pattern.
The Blue Carnation design was inspired by the Japanese Imari style showing a stylized representation of the Japanese garden. In the 17th Century this pattern, produced mostly in the famous majolica town of Faenza, became a favorite china dinnerware all over the world. Biordi's Blue Carnation comes from Rimini near Faenza and each piece is signed by the artist, Roberto Vecchio.
