Past Grant Recipients

Last year, with the support of our amazing sponsors, Hinsdale Junior Woman's Club was able to award nearly $300,000 total grant dollars to 27 different charities! Check out the amazing charities below, and how we helped to support them!

1. Hephzibah Children's Association - Safety and security upgrades to the group home.
2. New Moms - Forklift for candle making operation and forklift operator training.
3. Reclaim 13 - Items to create comforting spaces for learning & healing.
4. Hope's Front Door - Grocery vouchers and fuel gift cards.
5. Loaves & Fishes - Milk for low-income families
6. Share our Spare - Diapers for low-income families
7. Northern Illinois Food Bank - Support for Milk2Myplate program, providing milk to families in need.
8. Bear Necessities - Gas gift cards, as part of Bear Hugs Program.
9. WINGS Program - Replaced carpeting with laminate floors in guest rooms and hallways, improving hygiene. 
10. Green Halo Scholars - Registration costs for students to attend Chicago Scholars Onsite Admissions Forum, laptops. 
11. Hinsdale Hospital - Funding for new newborn incubator and Kangaroo chairs for infant/parent bonding.
12. IMG Guest House Foundation - 30 portable HEPA air filters for patient/family use.
13. People's Music School - General music kits for children.
14. Northeast DuPage Family and Youth Services - Tables and chairs for group counseling room.
15. The Chicago Lighthouse - Technology supplies for new preschool.
16. Almost Home Kids - Grant to install protection material to multiple entryways to avoid wheelchair/bed damage. 
17. Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center - Technology needs to support their Behavioral Telehealth Program.
18. Assistance League Chicagoland West - Kitchen essentials for families moving from temporary hotel housing to apartments.
19. Simply from the Heart - Purchase of a van and conversion to mobile pampering facility for pediatric cancer patients living at home.
20. All Our Children's Advocacy Center - Table and chairs for trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy.
21. Sharing Connections - Mattresses and box springs for individuals without a bed.
22. The Home 2 Home Project - Mattresses and box springs for individuals without a bed.
23. Child's Voice - Purchase and install SMART board in classrooms.
24. Wellness House - 15 iPads to enable patients and family members to participate in online programs.
25. Helping Hands - Partially funded capital expenses associated with providing a fully accessible, inspiring program space. 
26. Lutheran Child and Family Services - School supplies and laptops for foster children/youth.
27. Center for Independence through Conductive Education - Equipment for therapy classrooms for children with disabilities.

Details:

• City View King Room at $550 for the night of GIVEchella: April 9, 2022 (room upgrades available)
• Rate includes daily breakfast credit for two people per bedroom ($80 allotment per day per room), a one-time $100 USD Hotel Credit (contact Trish for credit details)
• Cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival
• Elysian Travel will donate $50 to HJWC for every room reserved.
