Both a student and parent are invited for a tour of the Georgia State Capitol with Rep. Becky Evans!

Meeting/Tour will be available after May 21st and before Nov. 5th, 2024. The tour will include the house chamber, gallery and senate side as well as the museum upstairs, Rep. Evans's office, and the Governor's office. Rep. Evans will talk about pivotal votes, like passing the Hate Crimes bill during the pandemic, with the Black Lives Matter protest going on outside.

I'm a bill, just a bill, just sitting there on Capitol Hill!

Allow 2 hours for the tour.

Contact rep Evans to schedule: [email protected].

Becky Evans is currently representing House District 89, an all-DeKalb district which includes portions of Ellenwood, Panthersville, Candler-McAfee, East Lake, Decatur, Candler Park, Druid Hills, and Morningside. Evans defeated an eight-term incumbent in 2018 and has quickly become a forward voice for building the strongest and best possible schools for our kids by advocating for evidence based literacy instruction and safeguarding public dollars from going to private schools; protecting Georgians from air, water, and soil pollution and price gouging on energy costs, conserving our natural resources, and building a robust, clean-energy economy; and protecting Georgia families from gun violence by fighting for common sense gun laws that promote safety and reduce easy access to guns.

Becky was born in Dallas, TX but has been a longtime DeKalb County homeowner. Evans earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Emory University in 1983. She has been a passionate DeKalb schools volunteer, co-founded the Druid Hills Athletic Association and has served as a co-chair of the Global Mission Committee at North Decatur Presbyterian Church, on the board of the Druid Hills Civic Association, and on the board of the Emory Village Alliance.
