Carb Day is held on the Friday prior to the Indianapolis 500 and is the final practice before the big race, allowing the drivers and crews to dial in their cars for race day conditions. The event was originally known as Carburetion Day and was primarily used for the purpose of teams tuning their carburetors for the Indy 500. The event features a single-elimination tournament format that puts the IndyCar pit crews on display.
