About the Artist:

Jonathan Ware is an Atlanta-based corporate attorney and self-taught digital artist. Ware drew his inspiration for the work Ascension from what he believes is one of humanity's greatest challenges - moving past the differences and distinctions which divide society (the polarities) into a unified world of harmonious mutual respect and understanding.

In his image, two serpents, representing opposing perspectives, embrace one another in a spark of Cosmic Illumination and ascend against a starry backdrop, representing a state of universal awareness. The serpent, an ancient symbol of healing and wisdom, is both venomous - having the ability to kill - and transformative - having the ability to shed its skin and be born anew, presenting obvious parallels to our current human condition.

Ware said, "The awakened heart has the capacity to hold the polarities of life in a matrix of love, and when we act from a consciousness of love, we naturally live in harmony with one another and the divinity that is inherent in all of creation. Our task is the life-long endeavor of cultivating the human heart such that its radiant light shines forth to illuminate our path. As our relationship with our inner world changes, so does our relationship with our outer world. As within, so without. The harmony within us is reflected back to us in our harmony with others, and we come to see that we are one human family - on the same journey of life - a journey that has its ultimate end in our return to the One Light from which we all originated."
