About the Artist:

Jim Greenwood paints as if there is no tomorrow. Because he has to. Jim suffers from Retinitis Pigmentosa, a disease of the eye that has no treatment and no cure. As he says, "It's a slow decline into darkness." He is legally blind, losing more than 95% of his visual field and left with 20/600 distance vision. He is also color blind. But he paints in earnest. Because he has to.

After a tour in the Marine Corps, he studied art at Florida State. "I wanted to be a painter, but abstraction was all the rave at the time, and I just didn't get it." He switched his major in the fine art department to graphic design and enjoyed a thirty-year career as an advertising agency art director, corporate graphic design manager with The Coca-Cola Company and years with his own design firm. He has now been painting full time for twelve years.

Jim has been in various art galleries in the Atlanta area and won numerous awards in juried shows throughout the country.
