About the Artist:

Kim Anno is a painter, photographer, and film/video ar4st whose work has been collected and exhibited by museums na4onally and interna4onally. Born in Los Angeles, Anno has had exhibi4ons and screenings at the University of Suffolk, England, 14th Annual New Media Fes4val, Seoul, Korea, Bejing, Chengdu, Shanghai, China, Yamanba projects, Tokyo, Japan,Kala Art Ins4tute, Berkeley, Goethe Ins4tute in Johannesburg, the Durban Municipal Gallery, South Africa in the "Don't Panic Exhibi4on", Flux Projects, Atlanta, Marcia Wood Gallery in Atlanta, Sky Dive Gallery, Houtson, San Francisco Asian Art Museum, Wave Form Gallery, Cincinna4, Patricia Sweetow Gallery in San Francisco, Seeline Gallery, LA, Patricia Correia Gallery, Santa Monica, Sue ScoX Gallery, NY, Site Santa Fe Biennale: One Night Stand in New Mexico, the King's Art Center, California Retrospec4ve, the Varnosi Museum in Hungary, DC Dusseldorf Interna4onal Expo (Germany), Pulse, Miami, and the Berkeley Art Museum, the Denison University Museum, and Noel Art Museum. Anno's work was recently acquired by the Berkeley Art Museum, and the Crocker Art Museum. Recipient of the Wallace Alexander Gerbode Founda4on Purchase Award and the Eureka Founda4on's Fleishhaker Fellowship, Anno has been a professor at the California College of the Arts since 1996. She was awarded fellowships: by the Zellerbach Founda4on and the Open Circle Founda4on, NY Docs, Brown Girls Doc Mafia, James L Knight Founda4on, Center for Cultural Innova4on, 2020, SF Airport public art commission 2021: "Long Arc of Day". Anno was a recipient of a Berkeley Film Founda4on Award and published her second ar4sts' book with the poet Anne Carson. Currently, she is publishing an ar4sts book with "PacificAfuture" collec4ve. In 2022 she hopes to release her first feature film; "¡Quba!"
