Bluebird Embroidery is a student-based enterprise run through the Family and Consumer Sciences Department. Bluebird Embroidery began with a single needle embroidery machine in 2014. Since then we have expanded to two multi-needle embroidery machines, an industrial heat-press, a cutting machine, and industry software. Students in the Fashion and Interior Design Career Pathway are in charge of the business. They decide on products, price points, keep track of inventory, plan sales, advertise, design logos, monograms and custom designs, use industry software, run machines, create invoices and package and deliver merchandise. Besides special sales throughout the year, Bluebird Embroidery also works with clubs, athletic teams, departments to create custom merchandise. All profits are applied back to the business and the program. The business is entirely self-sustaining and the students in the program benefit from new equipment, products, and experience they gain.
