Title: Hermosa Beach

Description: The pin up girl is a nod to the jazz days at the lighthouse, my first cocktail waitressing job. Dez Cadena of Black Flag's mom Glo ran the jazz brunches and quickly became all of our pseudo grandmother. She had stories of the jazz legends that passed through the lighthouse cafe as well as punk rock stories pertaining to her son and his past with Black Flag. When I worked with Glo in 2014/2015 she would talk about how proud she was of her son for being The Misfits frontman for a brief period of time as he was singing for them. She would give us girls little Misfits merch keychains.

Pin up girls got their name from their photos being pinned up on the wall - much like these decks of hermosa beach - informal displays of our picturesque beach town.
