About Walking Cookie Dough:

Walking Cookie Dough by Lili Kim is a children's book for ages 3-8. Having a puppy can be a daunting task, and requires a lot of responsibility and care. However, walking your pup each day can open you up to a world full of possibilities and wonder. Join Cookie Dough as he guides us on how to be more open with others, and teaches us how to live life to its fullest.

Lili Kim delved into the amazing world of children's literature about five years ago, due to her son's love for reading. She was introduced to a myriad of amazing authors, and got enveloped in a so many creative stories and beautiful illustrations. So, she decided-why not write a children's book herself? It didn't take long to think of what to write about-She would dedicate this book to her family's Jack Russell, Cookie Dough. He was adopted nearly a decade ago on a whim, while Lili Kim and her were vacationing in Texas. The animal shelter (The Humane Society in Harlingen) was right by the airport (ironic, isn't it?) and they had some time to check it out. And so, after looking at Cookie Dough's adorable puppy eyes when he was just a few weeks old, they decided to fly him over to NY. And their lives have changed incredibly ever since.

Lili Kim on WALKING COOKIE DOUGH:

"This book has been a labor (pun intended) of love while my son was a newborn. I decided to put in a ton of mementos from my childhood, people who I look up to, and memories of my loved ones. You'll see a page alluding to Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken," my fave motto "Carpe Diem," a painting of a sheep since my son was born in the year of the sheep, a bear that my now 96-year-old grandmother crocheted for me, and a photo studio my late mom used to own. There's a lot more references (such as taking the "J" subway, which spells out "JOY" versus the "ACE" in NYC), and I love how this book is filled with so many inside jokes and love. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!"
