Two-day trip for 2 anglers to the heart of The Cajun Bahamas, Grand Isle, Louisiana, aka "Cancoonass."

Two anglers will fly into New Orleans and then ride down the bayou with TRCP Marine Fisheries Director Chris Macaluso to Louisiana's only inhabited barrier island where they will stay two nights and fish with Chris' long-time fishing buddy Captain Frank Dreher, operator of Laidback Charter Service. Capt. Frank's camp is a well-appointed three-bedroom, two bath house on pilings and he runs a 24-foot center console bay boat.

Anglers will target primarily speckled trout and redfish with spinning and bait casting tackle along the beaches, reefs and marshes of Barataria Bay and perhaps bump just off the beach in search of big jack crevalle, cobia and mangrove snapper. Anyone who has fished Louisiana can tell you to be prepared to catch fish all day. Meals will be home-cooked with fresh seafood by Macaluso and Dreher, two well-fed Cajun camp chefs and beers and booze are included.

Trip can be taken on mutually agreeable dates, preferably weekdays from September-November 2022 or April-May 2023.

Value: $1,600
