Hawksmoor, widely considered one of the world's best steak restaurants, recently opened its doors in the United Charities Building on 22nd & Park, which has been closed from public view for over a century. The restaurant is owned by childhood friends Will Beckett and Huw Gott, who opened the original in London in 2006, and who have been travelling to New York on restaurant pilgrimages ever since.

NYC doesn't lack for great steakhouses, but what sets Hawksmoor apart is a vocal commitment to sustainable farming practices and the vision to showcase the New York and New England bounty in a menu that offers refreshed takes on classics. The beef is perfection, all-natural, pasture-raised, dry-aged and grilled over live charcoal. The seafood is all sustainably-sourced from Eastern waters and the restaurant uses small-farm produce wherever possible.
