(#2021-055 "Faded Denim") Guitar was hand crafted by Ballwin, MO luthier Dan O'Grady.

Building guitars is Dan's passion, not his business. He's been designing and building a wide variety of woodworking projects since the late 1960s, and playing, pulling apart and putting together guitars since the early 1970s. After a disabling neurological condition forced him to retire from teaching in 2007, he's combined these two pursuits into building custom electric guitars and basses as a form of both mental and physical therapy.

Typically, each year Dan builds about 6 instruments. 40+ hours of painstaking, detailed handwork goes into the creation of each unique, signed & numbered instrument. The finished instruments are most often donated for charity fundraising events that support education, the arts and the general wellbeing of children and families in the St Louis region.

  • Signed and numbered.
  • The 24.562" scale rosewood fretboard has a 12" radius, with medium jumbo frets and abalone position markers. The nut is hand-shaped unbleached bone.
  • The body is African mahogany, with a nicely figured, book-matched curly maple top.
  • Flame maple headstock veneer dyed to match the faded denim blue top.
  • White knobs, switch tip, pickups & pickup mounting rings complement the blue finish.
  • The finish is a water-borne, environmentally friendly clear acrylic applied over the "faded denim" blue dye.
  • The matched set of humbucker pickups use Alnico 5 magnets and have 12 adjustable pole pieces. The neck pickup is wound to a vintage 7.8k spec, while the bridge pickup is wound to a hot 14.5k. Combined with individual volume and tone controls.
  • All chrome hardware, including the Tune-o-matic style bridge and Gotoh tuners.

Includes a matching blue denim & leather gig bag case.
