Charles Radtke, a local Cedarburg, Wisconsin, award winning artist and furniture maker, has
fabricated a one-of-a-kind Etagere for the silent auction. This piece is a beautiful composition of holly and cherry woods along with a striking walnut handle. Sassafras and compher woods give the drawer its distinct look. According to Radtke, an Etagere comes in many shapes and sizes, typically used to showcase a small collection. "I wanted this piece to function more as a stopping point, perhaps by an entrance door, where one can keep their keys or use the mirror. The off-access center vertical creates a curious illusion with the drawer, and the drawer is in fact not square." The approximate size is 28" high, 6" deep and 16" wide. Radtke's pieces hold permanent residence in the Smithsonian, Boston Museum of Fine Art, Milwaukee Art Museum and the Museum of Wisconsin Art.
