A delicious evening gathering: a virtual wine tasting in the comfort of your own home. Imagine tasting 3 delicious red wines hosted by Jen and Tim Armstrong for you and your guests from their Armstrong Family Winery location in Walla Walla, Washington. The wines included are the Fronk 2017, David's Folly 2016, and Bogie's Blend 2017.

The Wines:

Fronk 2017 - 92 pts, James Suckling | Double Gold, 2020 Seattle Wine Awards

This beautiful 100% Cabernet Franc once again hails from the Yakima Valley - this time, 76% from Dineen Vineyard and 24% from Elephant Mountain. The 2017 vintage features notes of raspberry and blackberry, balanced with anise, roasted red pepper, herbs, and earthy notes typical of the 2017 vintage. Great acidity, fresh fruit, balanced tannins and delicious flavor make this wine food-friendly, and age-worthy. Pairing ideas: pork tenderloin, burgers, stuffed red peppers, and lamb chops.

David's Folly 2016 - 91 pts, James Suckling

This distinctive Cab-focused blend once again delivers age-worthy structure, and yet, with 3 years of bottle aging before release, is drinking beautifully today. Comprised of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Petit Verdot, David's Folly is layered and complex, featuring round tannins, and notes of plum, baking spices and violets. Pairing ideas: prime rib, brisket, duck, dark meat turkey.

And honoring DPA...

Bogie's Blend 2017 - 92 Pts, James Suckling | 90+ Pts, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate

"Bogie's Blend is named after our 17-year-old Beagle-Basset mix, Bogie, who joined our family as a rescue more than 14 years ago. The wine itself could be called a "mixed breed" as well."

This beautiful, approachable blend of two of Washington's most popular varieties: Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon offers a generous nose of cherry, blueberry, plumb, and cocoa. On the palette, this wine over-delivers with ripe, velvety dark fruits and a touch of vanilla character delivered in a lush structure that is perfect to enjoy now or lay down for a few years. Pairing ideas: Grill up some rib-eyes and invite the neighbors over for this one.
