Byrds co-founders Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman launched their 50th anniversary tour of their groundbreaking album, "Sweetheart of the Rodeo," in 2018 and played the Civic on Wednesday, October 3 of that year. The album is considered one of the most influence country rock recordings of all time.

Joined by Marty Stuart, the pair presented the album in its entirety and told stories that brought the album to life. "Mr. Tambourine Man," "My Back Pages" and "So You Want to Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star" were among the classics performed.
