This 9"x11" piece captures the essence of 'Christmas' by Alexa McCormack. Alexa chose this poem because she wanted to represent the magic of Christmas at home. The poet describes how Covid has taken over our normal holiday celebrations limiting time spent with family and friends. They describe that we still have hope and know that good times are ahead. Alexa wanted to capture the magic of the holidays at home and how this helps us to hold out hope and embrace the holiday season with those who we can see. Alexa McCormack is a watercolor artist based in NYC/CT/RI, specializing in custom, fashion illustration and print design. Art inspired by the Poem, Xmas by Gaby, PS 249

We wish you a merry Xmas and a happy new year!

Covid why did you have to come this year! All we hoped for was a fun year. As we unwrapped our presents, we will probably get some masks. But even Santa knows that this virus wants to have the last laugh! All we can do is hope because Xmas is here. We went from being jolly to smiling in our masks. But as they say, we wish you a merry Xmas because we can't even celebrate with our class!

At this point, COVID wants to stay

Because it found a new home but we just want it to go away because Christmas turned into Xmas and we all just want to see our family and friends and that's for sure!
