Hello! My name is Ana Valdez. I'm an aunt to two adorable little boys with IDDs and also work as a K/1 Special Education teacher at Cook County School District 130 in Blue Island, IL. Thank you for supporting me in my efforts to raise money for Best Buddies.


Best Buddies' mission is one of inclusion and friendship, two things that I focus on almost daily with my young learners. Teaching children that we all belong and are all deserving of a friend can have lasting effects on a child!


I strive to spread awareness on the importance of being kind, including others, and being a good friend, which is why Best Buddies was a perfect match when choosing a charity to run for at the Chicago Marathon. I am very honored to be nominated as a Champion of the Year!


Through Best Buddies, thousands of people with disabilities have successfully moved from segregation and desolation to a new acceptance in their family and community. In turn, Best Buddies has created a new spirit of public service for thousands of middle school, high school and college volunteers that will last a lifetime.
