Martha Whittington received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute. She received her MFA in Sculpture from Tyler School of Art, Temple University. Ms. Whittington has been the recipient of artist residencies at Bemis Center in Omaha, Nebraska, Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap, TransATLantic GALLERY twenty-four in Berlin, Germany, Vermont Studio Center, and Chateau d'Orquevaux in France. In support of her work, Ms. Whittington was awarded First Place National Winner from Herradura Tequila Barrel Art and grants from Idea Capital, the Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia, Office of Cultural Affairs Atlanta, and Austin Green. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. Ms. Whittington is a Professor of Sculpture at the SCAD Atlanta.
